The Magic of Motoring at Goodwood

1st October 2015

Jo Bird & Co. were approached by Magic of Motoring with a very unique enquiry. The company specialise in building bespoke structures for motor racing events and were to recreate a fully operational, 1950's art deco filling station to appear at the Goodwood Revival on Lord March's famous Sussex estate. The filling station is designed to provide fuel to both aircraft and vehicles and requires three cabinets to house safety equipment.

Each of the cabinets were made using temporary moulds, their intricate curvatures proving a good test of our mould maker's skills. We achieved a wonderful finish and the overall look of the station was very well received. This now permanent feature of Goodwood also played a role in their Battle of Britain 75th anniversary commemorations.

We are very proud to have been invited to take part and extend our thanks to both the Goodwood Estate and Magic of Motoring.
