20/08/2009 - Fire extinguishers - safe, dangerous or just mismanaged?

 Practical FM, in its August 2009 health & safety focus, explores a number of issues surrounding the safety and integrity of fire extinguishers located both outside and inside public buildings.

The debate over extingusher safety and security was sparked a year ago when experts were unable to agree whether exposed extinguishers provided in a council run residential block of flats in Bournemouth presented more of a safety risk to residents through accidental misuse than removing them.
